Which Way To Put It?

Best Blogger TipsHaving trouble in deciding what way to have this one orientated! HELP! Haha...

This picture doesn't really do it justice. There's a lot of silver/bronze/gold that shines lovely in the light! I'm going to gloss it when it's fully dry so that the colours pop even more!

And so it begins...

Right, I've actually decided to set up shop and sell my paintings, to see if anyone does actually like them that aren't my friends or friends parents! Haha... My mother has had her last painting and is hung on the wall now, so she no longer has any wall space for more of my creations, so I thought the best way to do it was the flog them to other people! This is the painting that I did for my mother, it's one of my favourites so far!

It's a wave, but it's whatever you want it to be!

OMG!

One of my friends showed her mother my paintings and now she wants 5! YEY! I love that someone can look at my work and be inspired/excited enough to pay money for it! The paintings in question are to be hung in their newly built house in Sierra Leone... Victoria Richards is going international! Ha. Now I'm panicking if I'm going to get them right and to the standard that they want, which is always a bit daunting, but never the less, a challenge!

Also, another friends mother wants a painting, but this one really is a challenge, she wants my version of the 'Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe'... being a child minder, she feels like this and wants to be the childminder who lived in the shoe. So I've begun research and its going to be a toughy! I'm not used to fine art/illustration and the one ones I really have done were the pictures for my little cousin (who is subsequently due today!) so I really need to practice those sort of skills a bit more and then have a go. You shall see the finished result on here, and you can judge for yourself if I have it right, which will be probably not!

Paintings for Friends

Decided to post on Facebook that I had finished doing some paintings, and while I was in the mood did anyone want any? I said it sort of joking, but a little serious, and two of my friends wanted paintings, so they've bought the canvas and I did the painting! These are what I came up with...

This one was for Laura, it says Laura Jayne in the same style as the one I posted previously... This one was a lot neater than my previous though, so I think my painting skills have improved somewhat!

This little turquoise number is for Zoe. She loves bright colours, and these three in particular, so this is going to be hung in her Uni house bedroom to bring a little colour into the room. I love this one, and love to stroke it because of all the texture I put on it... if only you could feel it!

Paintings for the Living Room and Kitchen

If any of you who have been to my house know how colour co-ordinated it is! Ha....So I've done a burn orange abstract painting for the living room and a block type teal-ish colour one for the kitchen. Matching everything, of course!

Little Paintings for a Little Bundle of Joy!

My Auntie and Uncle are expecting, and wanted some paintings for their new son's room. So I had a look at his room so far and whipped up a few pictures for the walls.

My Test Paintings

I bought new brushes, which I am in love with as they're the nicest brushes I've ever had. They're not fancy or anything, but just a nice Reeves set. I haven't bought any mounted boards yet as I thought I'd just buy some flat boards to have a go on and get back into the swing of painting, if you can actually do that. I started off with an area that I was comfortable with, abstract colour with no definitive object... Easy, I know, but I enjoy it and creating effects with the paint and molding paste that I have purchased (another of my favourite mediums!). So my first attempt was this...

Ignem Ardentem

Thought I'd give it a Latin, because it would be cooler, plus I'm learning a lot of Latin on my course, as everything to do with body is in Latin and if you speak to another Doctor in normal English they'll think you're an imbecile, so there you go, it means "the fire burning" but then again, my mother said it looked an endoscopy, which wasn't the look I was going for!

So for the next try I had a go at something medical related, so as you can probably tell what it is from looking at it, I'm not going to patronise you by telling you what it is... unless it really isn't obvious, then if so, let me know and I'll say!

Idque Vitae

Aptly named "the fluid of life", this is I suppose is one of the greatest achievements of evolution and mammalian life itself. Let me know what you think and any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

A Little Bit of Paint

Have a guess what it says? This was one of the painting I did for my living room. Had the idea from a GCSE project that I did with pastels, which I loved, and the bloody school wouldn't let me take home :( not amused by that really!

This other painting I did because my mother was choosing colours for the kitchen walls, and these were the tester pots and the help of some masking tape for some effect. You can't let good paint go to waste, its a crime!

I added a bit if good old permanent marker, for the linear detail and a piece of kitchen paper towel to create the blurred/smudged effect.

A Bit of Passion

I've always had a love for clothes, of all styles and colours; and have always wanted to try to make some of my own. I love dresses and have toyed with the idea of creating some designs that will hopefully flatter my body type. Not being stick thin, and loving my curves, I want to show them off to their fullest potential, and in what better than a custom made dress?

I've been thinking of what fabrics and lines to use... I have a few designs in mind and will post them when I have the chance to scan them.

A Little Inspiration

With some encouragement from a friend and fellow blogger, I've set this little page up. I've recently finished my exams for my 1st year doing Medical Science (with the hope to do Post-Graduate Medicine) but have many years of exams and panic revision left! I've decided I need a hobby for the Summer and so I think I'm either going to do a bit of painting, or some photography.

At the moment I'm just thinking of as many things I can do to keep me busy and so that I have something to show at the end of Summer, to prove it wasn't as wasted 4 months!

As for painting, I've had some weird ideas... As I'm into Medical things, I was thinking about doing some abstract medical paintings, a bit morbid, I know! But I think it could be interesting, and in a way, educational as well as art.
